Clean X3 26" Frame

-The high-end Clean X3 26" trials frame, available in 2 versions:

  • ✅ 1070 mm
  • ✅ 1090 mm

- Made from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, with 7075-T6 machining in order to achieve the perfect balance between low weight and high strength.
- Features a tapered headtube, for 1 1/8” – 1,5” integrated headsets.
- The down tube is hydroformed, which allows the tube sections to be optimized in order to achieve the highest strength with minimal weight.
- The head tube has a Clean logo opening that eliminates unnecessary weight.
- Steerer tube designed for use with integrated bearings without the need for cups.
- Each one of the main tubes is gusseted to the head tube in order to increase this critical area’s strength and stiffness.
- The seat stays are joined to the top tube with a gusset, similar to a brake booster, essential to avoid rear-end flexion.
- Contoured chain and seat stays provide extra clearance to prevent tyre or crank rubbing.
- The chain stays are joined together with a reinforcement tube that increases this area’s stiffness.
- The down tube joins the bottom bracket shell asymmetrically: instead of joining it at its centre, the BB shell is offset to the left. This allows for minimized frame flexion when pedaling, since the freewheel is now closer to the main tube.
- 91 mm wide, threadless bottom bracket shell, designed to use a Press Fit BB30 bottom bracket (won’t fit other systems)
- The frame incorporates rim brake mounts, machined from a single piece of CNC machining.
- Features vertical dropouts and uses a double-wheel sprung tensioner (not included with the frame). Thanks to this system, the wheel is always placed in the exact same position.
- With the double-wheel tensioner, you can adjust the chain tension directly and instantly, without needing to loosen the hub bolts or moving the wheel.
- The inner sides of the dropouts have large machined pockets that remove unnecessary material to save some weight.
- The right dropout has a place to install the chain tensioner, which is kept in place with a M5x16mm slave bolt.
- Dropouts are spaced at 120 mm and designed for a 12 mm diameter rear thru-axle.
- Note: it does not include an axle insertheadsetbashplate or chain tensioner, available separately.

The 6 Keys to Compatibility
Below, you can find the main details to consider when setting up this frame:

1) Headset.
Since the headtube on this frame is tapered, with 1 1/8” top and 1,5” bottom diameters, it’s compatible with 1 1/8” – 1,5” tapered forks. If you’d like to use a standard 1 1/8” diameter fork, you can install an adaptor for the bottom cup, as in the one supplied with Clean’s 1 1/8” – 1,5” tapered headset, available on our here.

2) Bashplate. This frame, like the vast majority of 26" frames, does not have a bashplate bracket. Instead, it is common to install a UCI (ring) type protector between the crank and the sprocket, like the ones you can find on our website.

3) Bottom bracket. A Press Fit AS30 bottom bracket system, such as the Clean X2 bottom bracket kit, should be used.

4) Chain tensioner. This frame requires a double pulley chain tensioner, so it is not compatible with eccentric or other types of chain tensioners. It is compatible with the chain tensioner Clean X2, Clean X2 ProCrewkerz and those of identical dimensions.

5) Rear hub. This frame has a dropout spacing of 120 mm, and allows the use of:

  • Rear hub with thru axle, such as the Clean X3 rear hub, by installing the Clean thru axle inserts.

6) Fork. The steerer tube of your fork should be long enough to be at least 2 mm above the top bolt of the stem base.

To ensure this, you must add the length of the head tube of the frame (in this case, 125 mm), with the part of the cups that protrudes from the head tube, with the headset spacers (if used) and/or dust caps that are located under the stem, and also with the height of the stem base you wish to use. Once you have done these calculations, you can check if your fork is long enough to be 2 mm above the top bolt of the stem base.
